    if you are running on a linux server then the best way is to do a htaccess redirect. It is the most safest way and recommended by all the search engines.

    There are so many types of redirection. some of them are temperory and some are permanent. 301 redirection is a permanent. if you want to move a page form one address to other permanently then use 301.

    yes here you are not specify which type of php,asp or html site redirection or two type of redirection temporary or permanent for temp we use 302 or permanent is 301..
