Does PR even matter?

In my opinion this matters if this will bring you more money, if no, doesn't matter.

^ agree with cron1cal.. I would reply more on alexa ranking, because it counts the number of visitors and traffic. but there are a lot of SEO are into the PR and forgetting the Traffic of a website.

If PR doesn't matter, then why the people are dying to get link from HIGH PR sites? Isn't it to improve their own PR?

 

I find this completely false. I have seen some very good sites ranked in the high hundreds of thousands.

 

Not necessarily. Sure, we do it for the increase in PR, but we like to get extra traffic as well. Getting those links also puts us higher in the rankings.

 

You contradict your own statement. You are saying that you do link-building to increase your PR and at the same time you are ignoring my post too.

 

Oh yeeeeh... for idiots it does...
mostly for those who are believing that PR has any effect on SERP.

Yes, it does matter. PR shows how important is your site in Google's opinion and more than that attracts advertisers and when you enter on a site and you see that this site has a high PR, you'll prefer it instead of a site with a lower PR.

And alexa rank is not an objective way to find info about a site. Because alexa rank depends on how many alexa toolbars are installed in the world.

I never bothered with PR

Serps and PR are 2 diffrent things SERPS are all that mater ..

 

Google has always said not to worry about PR, but to focus on building quality content and getting backlinks

 

High Page Rank of any site is a great thing it helps in earning and even when you sell your website this thing counts alot

 

Some say it doesn't matter while others say it does. every professional has a different opinion about things specially PR.
for me PR is not totally useless because if your site has a reasonably good PR then you can easily make money with it so,
if you are able to make money because of something then for sure its not useless. Just a thought!

You shouldn't care, care for SERP only.

But the fact is Google gives priority to High PR sites. That is why Wikipedia & facebook are in top for many keywords.

Dynamic IP is the problem and because spammers has been changing them all the time,
our spam filter blacklists C Block of IPs after it's reach 10 spam hits from that Block.

Sorry about you having problem but there is only 1 normal user for every 100 spammers.
