I want to know hw can I track my visitors if there are coming from my email campaign or not?, What code I have to generate and where. And where can I see those results?
You will probably want to create a seperate landing page specifically for the campaign. Also, you may want to take a look at Spring Metrics as an alternative to GA for looking at conversions, traffic sources, etc. (Disclosure - I am not an employee of Spring Metrics, but have been doing some advisory work for them).
Seosarjo, If you google "Spring Metrics" and go to their homepage, you can get a starter account for free. It requires you put a piece of tracking code on your landing page; however they tell you how it is done. Hope this helps. ...Tim
I've been looking for an alternative to GA mainly due to information overload. I'll give Spring Metrics as look see.
Yep, that is exactly why my friends started Spring Metrics - To make good information available without having to dig through reams of data. ...Tim
The best solution is using tags for the links on your newsletter. Just google it for "How do I tag my links?" Good luck
Hi, use Google URL builder tool. google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=55578 . With the help of this tool , you could tag the URL of your landing page. Put your landing page URL, source, medium, term etc values there and generate the tagged URL. Now replace your original URL in emailer with this tagged URL. The visitors, then you will get through this campaign, you could find them with the name of your campaign.
Most of the time i use Ebuzzz Email sent and it do provide the report of tracking. But if you do not use that then you have to track base on the URL that you put in the email content. Build a URL with campaign, source, medium . Then put it in the email content and allow you to track it and show in Google Analytic.
