Well I'm not lying, I heard this from a trusted member on DP who sold many domains on this forum before and still selling (a friend of mine also). I don't wanna give his/her nick though.

At namepros Mark and some friends of him stole the domain AMA.NET from a friend, and right after that they just banned him.

I think you have been misinformed my friend.

The issue arose, I believe, when someone was selling hijacked domains and DNForum users took it upon themselves to relieve the hijacker of the domains by reporting it to the various authorities.

That, to the best of my recollection, is where the issue began.

If you don't code it yourself, it's not secure. You can't code everything, but when stuff like this happens, it makes you wish you could.

I assume every other board running vBulletin v3.6.2 is vulnerable, right?

Well, though I never really liked the forum, I feel sorry for those guys.

DNforum has a somewhat snotty atmosphere, even a long time member posted a thread and said so...

Anyway, hope they get the site back up again.

Im not going to make a comment about the DNF hacking, but as per NamePro's, Ron James is an standup kinda guy. He wouldn't steal and is most likely one of the absolutely most generous person you will ever meet; online or off.

I tracked down the NamePros DNS attacker for Ron a couple of years back and called him.. and his father... and let him know this type of activity wouldn't be tolerated.. so for the script kiddies out there with ulterior motives... keep walking... stick with your PHPBB fanboy sites to hack.

    Back to Ron and NamePros..
I've personally seen him give away things..for seemingly no reasons other than kindness, fairplay or otherwise genuine good guy stuff, go above and beyond the call of duty for ANY webmaster.. all to create a stable and free environment. So please, even though it is a competing forum for DP; don't bash Ron.

Without question. These scripts are sitting ducks for anyone with some know-how and the motivation to give the project some attention.

If you had an account with DNForum and you use the same password for that site and your registrar (or anything else, for that matter), I strongly suggest changing your passwords immediately. If he had control of the page, he's got anything he wanted.

You are correct. This character has managed to use stolen paypal accounts (probably from phishing or buying them elsewhere) to buy domains from dnforum members. Of course paypal reversed the payment and the original domain owners were out their domains and minus their money.

He's got some talent, or is just persistent because he has no life. They have a good idea who he is, where he lives, goes to school etc so it is only a matter of time before he is caught. And considering the country he lives in has rather mean forms of punishment for stealing - he's in for a world of hurt.

You forget, whitebark.. all he has to do is say it was a form of Jihad against "the oppressors!" and he will be a hero.

I'm not even saying this tongue in cheek... and I think we all know it to be true. Iran is a shithole for a very specific reason... they(the Iranian Govt.) cares about no one, not even their own peoples.

The hacker has programmed this...the owners of the forum are in T.R.A.F.F.I.C....and the site is still down.

What a stupid thing to say that they stole a domain!!
