I got the news that amazon cookies last only 15-30 minutes. I get this news from someone and it just is not an official statement from amazon. maybe someone here can help. whether this is true or just an issue only. thanks before for your answer
Let me check but I do not it is going to happen. If is true, it is like Amazon will no longer like to work with their associates partner.
This is just a rumour. Amazon are the biggest affiliate program in the world, and would not risk lying to their affiliates...
Amazon affiliate cookies last 24 hours. If someone follows your link and makes a purchase within 24 hours, you are credited with the sale. If they follow your link and add an item to their cart – and then make that purchase within 89 days – you are credited with the sale.
I have personally checked the cookies from my browser (firefox), and I found that the cookies expired in only less than 30 minutes ... anyone from Amazon can confirm this? Really appreciate if you guys also check your affiliate cookies and confirm whether you got the same results as I do.
Amazon has grown into a household name; they no longer have any use for affiliates. In my opinion, Amazon has used their affiliates as a stepping stone in order to achieve this level of recognition. Now that everyone knows about Amazon, Amazon has taken steps to eliminate or reduce the amount of money they pay to their affiliates.
Man, that is just brutal if that is true. I have been under the assumption that it is a 24 hour cookie. Oh well, I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing. When did this supposedly take place?
I tested this rumor yesterday.. had a friend buy a 99 cent song after waiting 4 hours from one of my affiliate site's. The song showed up in my commission today. Rumor busted. Amazon's cookie is definitely not 30 minutes, it's 24 hours.
Shoemoney put it on one of his posts without any backup or proof.. so thats probably where this rumour came from. He was just pimping something else and used the lie as a way to make whatever he was making money from look better... so just ignore it The cookie is 24 hours (or 90 days if you use a shopping cart solution).
No, it is not so. If a visitor returns back within 24 hours and makes a purchase then you become eligible for a commission.
I just had a correspondence with Amazon concerning a concern I had with the aStore product and received this email from them that outlines how that product is counted. It is actually quite better than I had thought. Here are some more details on how aStore tagging is implemented to enable tracking of the two different customer behaviors listed in the Link type reports in Associate Central: A) Purchase through aStore When a customer visits your aStore and clicks on the "Proceed to Checkout" button, all items in his/her aStore cart get added to the Amazon.com cart tagged your Associates ID. There are two possibilities here if the customer does not complete the purchase at that time: 1. The customer proceeds to checkout, logs into Amazon.com and decides not to complete the transaction at that moment. In this case, the items will be saved in the cart for 90 days. If the customer completes the transaction within 90 days, the referring Associate will be paid. 2. If the customer proceeds to checkout from the aStore but does not log into Amazon.com, his/her cart will be saved for seven days. If the customer visits Amazon.com within seven days, he/she will be asked to enter his/her credentials and we will display items added from the aStore within the Amazon.com cart. If the user subsequently logs in, items will be saved for another 90 days and the referring Associate will get credited whenever the transaction is completed. B) Referral from aStore If customers visit your aStore and click on any link within the aStore to go to Amazon.com, their session is tagged with your Associates ID. If the customer adds a product to his/her Amazon.com cart within 24 hrs, the referring Associate will be credited when the transaction is completed. This is the same as any other link type. For further details, please refer to the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement at: (link missing because my user is not allowed to) Please feel free to provide us with the order ID number of any order you are concerned about and we will check to see if the items in the order have been tagged to your account. Thanks for participating in Amazon Associates.
