Nice article: Here are seven ways to make your website more usable for people and more visible to search engines. 1. Limit the use of Flash. 2. Have at least one basic text menu. 3. Create a site map. 4. Write specific title tags. 5. Cross-reference related items. 6. Unwrap your PDF files. 7. Offer descriptive content.
Write your content with page scanners in mind, not just readers. More people scan a web page than actually read it. Use headings and subheadings and bold sections of text, or underlined, that highlight the main topic of a paragraph. Not only does it allow your scanning type readers to absorb your content faster, all those headings and bolded and underlined text are great places to drop the odd key-word or key-phrase. Don't over do this though, the page starts to look like its too much, and turn your readers off.
I think that google has adjusted to programming such as flash. Flash is an important part of web site creation so why wouldnt they adjust their algorithim to it.
- Chose your fonts and colors so they don't drive the user insane. - Use Breadcrumbs - Be wary of the load time of your pages (especially if you're using animated ads)
