I'm planning to start a website with various original articles under a lot of categories.. it will be a few hundred new articles every month and i'm assuming to cross atleast a minimum of 10000+ unique hits/month. I can't expect any clicks from the visitors although m assuming me there will be some. i'm wondering what would be the best possible way to get going? I'm based in India and the users will be mostly college grads in India. How good is 1000 page per view or something? does google actually pay for 1000 unique page hits or just clicks and if yes, how much would that be? if not google adsense, is there any other CPM based that can be added along with google adsense so i can make money by 1000 page impressions? i hope i'm not posting against the forum rules. thanx for any help.
How could anybody know, how much 10000+ unique visitors will generate??? Depends of many factors...or...you should ask some visionarist I would say.
As per my understanding adsense shows cpc and cpm ads depending upon the bidding. So 10000 unique visitors does not guarantee you any specific income or fixed income. But yes as average I guess if most of the visitors are from US then you could make Minimum 15-30 $ a day . But remember I just guessed the amount , you should check all other things and factors to understand the calculation.
I don't want to get into the details of how i'm going to get the visits. Let's just assume it for now. Thank You. @loka: Can adsense generate that much amount without any clicks? Could you elaborate a bit?
It entirely depends on your site ranking. You cannot calculate your revenue from these numbers because CPC changes for sites with higher ranking for any specific keyword.
"College grads from India" is low quality traffic. You won't make more than a few cents per day unless you have get thousands of visitors per day. Google does have CPM ads too, but you won't earn much for Indian traffic. My guess is that you will make $10-$20 from 10000 visitors a month.
That really depends on the type of traffic plus how you monetize that traffic, but that much traffic can really lend you good amount of bucks.
Nothing can be said beforehand. You need to jump into the river to see if water is deep or shallow. Start your site and see what happens. No use speculating beforehand.
for me they would get me around $70 if they are coming from US , UK , Canada or Australia through search engines on unique content...!
you can earn more than 1000$ if your visitors are unique and targeted. so don't worry and start working on it.
Adsense basically pay for click but some of the ads does pay for cpm. You can't estimate the earning by only traffic. 1000 traffic site might earn better than 50000 traffic site, it depends on your ctr and cpc
This would be accurate, the best I would say around mid $xx. That won't be worth with the hundreds of article you will be posting.
first of all you may need to agree in your writing about a clear definition you use hits per month and visitors per months side by side hits and visitors are 2 totally different numbers/values ! second you use per month 10'000 unique visitors PER DAY may bring decent $ 10k u/v per months is tiny hobby site stuff! if targeting poor audience without real revenue such as kids/students stuff you may expect next to nothing if targeting professionals/adults of any trade on a global level then on a site with many different topics - technical, life, etc with 10k u/v per DAY may bring 1k$-2k$ / months average - more if you target high tech stuff high competition, less if you target low competition cheap topics as said by many, there are many factors that affect revenue, one to consider more than ever is our global economy situation/crisis are you targeting a healthy strong market or a mixed or corrupt industry facing bailout of default ... never look at UP TO revenue - that is sometimes possible, for very experienced publishers expert in an excellent professional topic, having learned and practiced many years or a decade and more. never compare novice with OLD experts, this could lead to dreams never come true! how much effort and expertise are you ready to invest ? 1000 hrs a year or 5000+ hrs a year surrendering the work to cheap outsourcing or doing ALL the important work all on your own? these are but a few additional factors that affect your success or failure
Firstly, it depends on whether the traffic is targeted traffic. The more targeted and relevant, the more likely they will click on the ads. Secondly, it depends on the niche you are in. For some niches like those related to IT or software, the click-through rates can be really low. For others such as product or information based, they can be quite high. Last but not least, it also depends on the CPC of the niche. Hope this helps.
It depends on your target market - keywords, language of the site. If your field is finance, for example, you'll probably make some decent money for 10,000 uniques per month. If 10'000 unique visitors per month is for a site in Mongolian, I'd guess you can expect about $1 per month..
it depends on your ads placement and theme. Like me just 300 impressions I can get 1 click that from 1 click I earn $1,04
