Why should I be happy? I didn't come up with that stupid thing.

Have something ever come out of nothing, no.
To be able to change something, people have to stand up and say it's wrong.

I'm sure that the amount of people going to jail for doing something against it will
help decrease the amount of people going to jail in the future.

    You still got it wrong.

Anyway, Islam does not prevent women from driving, so don't bring religion into this.

"Women are forbidden to drive in Saudi Arabia per a 1990 fatwa (religious ruling)"
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_Islam#Movement_and_travel

"A fatwā (Arabic: فتوى‎; plural fatāwā Arabic: فتاوى‎) in the Islamic faith is a religious opinion concerning Islamic law"
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatwa

I will not say anything more, but it seems like religion plays a part.

You're joking? You mean there are actually people out there who want to exercise the right to self-defence and Common Law? Disgusting. Civilians should rely on the police and the state only! If a crime is under way, you should be a good subject and call the police and wait for them. Only terrorists carry guns!

Do you even know what a religious opinion is? It's just an opinion held by a Scholar.

If you are going to claim that Islam prevents women from driving, then you have to get direct quotes from Qur'an or Hadeeth. An opinion by a Scholar is not sufficient.

Well, there are still slavery, piracy and more stupid things going on that are even worse.
A "modern world" will most likely never happen. A more fair world will take time to create.

Utopian thinking of a "modern" and "fair" world led to the genocides in the USSR, China, Cambodia and Nazi Germany.

The extent of tyranny a peoples deserve is the degree of which they will tolerate.

I hear many muslim syaing women have equal rights to men in Islam, obviosly that's not true in Saudi Arabia.
My God is a God of Love. And that God says treat everyone as you want them to treat you.

Now if we believe in One and the Same God, how He can tell one thing to one prophet and completely different or opposite to "another". My understanding of religion is, if it is not about "Love" it is not a true one. A Divine Teaching is supposed to teach: "Love, brotherhood, and sisterhood among all people."

You're lucky to believe in a God of love. I don't know which one is it but, out there, there are other Gods who are not close to love:

“And KILL them (the unbelievers) wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.” (Sura 2, verse 191).

See. As an atheist, I may be killed by them just because I'm not a believer...

There is a difference between Islam and Saudi Arabia, you are getting the two mixed up. Islam does not prevent women from driving a car, Saudi laws do.

And it's not even a big problem, there are people dying all over the world because they have no food to eat and you are discussing women that can't drive!?

Read the verse right before it:

And fight in the Way of Allâh[] those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allâh likes not the transgressors. [This Verse is the first one that was revealed in connection with Jihâd, but it was supplemented by another (V.9:36)]. (190)

Then the next one (the one you posted):

And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah[] is worse than killing. And fight not with them at Al-Masjid-Al-Harâm (the sanctuary at Makkah),[] unless they (first) fight you there. But if they attack you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers. (191)

    --

Now it becomes apparent that second verse is about fighting back, and not randomly killing others.

    Nonsense.

    1. Then based on what reasoning Saudis have made such a law "women are not allowed to drive a car"?
    2 ".... And it's not even a big problem,.... "

    Is it?
If what you said was true, then why did they put the woman in jail?
I have not seen even a single educated person in the world who believs women in Islam have equal rights to men.

The best way to find out if a religion is true one is to see the fruits it produces.,
