whats the best payment solution in this situation...?

I'm looking for opinions on what would be the best way to handle the following scenario:

I have a site which will allow users to sign up and create a 'campaign page' which would be focused around a fundraising target. The user will then be able to post this page to their facebook profile and twitter account etc inviting their friends to donate to their campaign.

Firstly I'd like the donors to be able to donate via credit card. Preferably the user would not have to leave my website in order to do this - although if needs be then I guess it's not a big problem for them to have to jump over to paypal or whatever.

Secondly I'd like to be able to take a 1% commission on each donation.

What's the best way to do this? Is it likely to be easier to require my users to create a paypal account and then have the donations sent straight into their paypal account. Or would you think it would be easier or cheaper to get like a sagepay account and then pass on donations minus the commission?

    to sum up:

I want people to be able to pay with credit cards. It's best if they don't have to leave the site but if needs be then it's ok. I also want to be able to take a % commission on each payment.

    hi Burningbarricade
    i suggest 3 payment processor:
    - PayPal : pay with paypal or credit card (the two options are included)
paypal have IPN (instant payment notification ) secure and solid for payment validation.
Note: PayPal need Credit Card to be verified if not dont use them.
    - AlertPay: the same as paypal
Note: AlertPay need verification (i dont know exactly how you can be verified) if not do not use them
    - Okpay : i like it so much (accept okpay , credit card bank wire and ecash) you can integrate the payment system into your site directly
and you can cashout your money vida OkPay Debit Card.
Note: OkPay need verification with documents identity verification ( passport or national id card) and adresse verification (with bank document or electricity invoice)

I hope this short explain be helfull for you.

hi tndeath (nice name!) thanks for the input

What are my options for collecting 1% and paying the rest out to the user who owns the page? I understand how I would collect money using the options you outlined but I'm not sure whats the best way to pay the user and collect my commission

    thanks again

Not really any option for collecting the 1% unless you want to bill them separately. Paypal is supposedly offering a 3rd party payment option through their new API. It may be able to do this. Amazon payments also allows for something similar to this. In either case, you need to check really carefully whether their terms and conditions allow exactly what you are wanting to do.

You cannot accept the payments into your own account and then pay with the 1% subtracted. This is called aggregating and is not allowed by any processor.

Hey tndeath, I'm not sure what you mean by affiliate or pub. I know what an affiliate is but not sure how I'd make that work for my business model
