Have you actually done any analysis into why the traffic is down? What source is traffic dropping from - direct, referral, search engine? Organic search or paid search? If organic search what keywords are driving less traffic than before - have you checked your SERPs and looked into how much you have dropped and if your competitors have been affected? There is a lot of work you could be doing before posting a vague thread like this that will give you some clues as to what has happened...

Learn the modern-day myths about article marketing that are running rampant across the internet. Avoid these common mistakes that are slowly exterminating the businesses of most article marketers today. Stop following fads and gimmicks and learn what actually works today and for the long-run.

Sorry to hear about your problem but I have been there before too. My website went down for a few weeks after doing quite well. It was a pretty new site so I'm guessing that Google liked the fresh content.
I kept to my SEO strategy of making more fresh, unique content (in terms of more "news" or "blog posts" on the site) and it seems to be creeping back up again.

In my opinion, try not to worry too much and keep going with your white-hat SEO routine and your site will be on the way up again soon!

    All the best

What's the name of your site? Could it be seasonal fluctuations in traffic?

Try fresh new content and also more and more backlinks seo is a never ending process. Your competition probably have more of both.

Possible reason can be change in algorithm for e.g. Google Panda update or periodic organic search results (SERP) churn. However if there is major reduction in website traffic then a penalty is likely & therefore identify the cause & work on it ASAP.

You have not bothered analyzing the cause for the last one month? If you are that lazy and careless, then I'm pretty sure that Project Mobius is right, Your site must be crappy.
