Nice guide. If you want to be able to get the right links in the right places, just try out an adsense theme. I use CTR Theme. They rotate ads and everything. Awesome sites with awesome CTR. Good luck and thanks for the great info!
LOL. I guess I didn't understand you, I thought you were talking about a post in ehow. I couldn't find the post in ehow that's why I asked. Anyway thanks for contributing. Thanks for the link. Yes CTR Theme is a great wordpress theme for adsense. You are welcome. Thanks BlueOrchard. I appreciate it.
I just researched the photo you have in the OP and checked the website it looks like its from and noticed that the ads you have on the website right now, do not reflect what you are showing here. Did you just make those changes, if so, is it for the better or for the worse? Thanks GC
Wow, very nice detailed, personal experience, info. I've had good luck with putting my ads either in the beginning of my content or within the content using the 300x250 ads.
Looking at the heat map it seems that vertical banners do better on the left than on the right. But I usually see them on the right. May have to look at moving my sidebar.
That might have to do with that most people start to read from left to right (LOL) or look left first then scan to the right? I have them all over the place and check what gets clicked more than others.. I get more clicks on the left sidebar then I do on the right. GC
It's not my site so I don't know but the changes seems good. Yes no one reads from right to left that's why getting clicks on the left side is much higher.
That piece and the heatmap is something I forgot about. Its really helpful to start visualizing my websites with that kind of plan in mind. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing the guide, I'm going to try and implement your ideas in my own site tonight. Fingers crossed eh.
It's been a while since I posted in this topic but I wanted to add somethings I've had more success than the traditional blue in the title color. Here is the color: #000080 It's a darker shade of blue almost the same as navy blue. It seems to get more attraction. My guess it's because it's a color that appears if you have clicked it before. It's just a guess but I think it might be useful to know. Also when I used it had 4% more ctr than the blue. Anyone tried that color before?
Images and a good theme that doesn't look generic and fits the niche helps too. I haven't tried the darker blue...why don't you try testing on a few more sites? If all your CTR's jump...you just found a winner. You own testing the most valuable thing you can do...always test and keep testing. GM
