You should try to write to complement the video, so that you could receive traffic from the search engines. Try to comment on other blogs, post frequently in the forum you've registered, and get backlinks from ezinearticles or goarticles for example.

In addition to what others have mentioned. It would be a good idea to do some keyword research and see what people are searching for in the area of your expertise. I agree with adding content to the blog. Why not write out an synopsis of the video? This will help get your content in the eyes of the search engines.
Is there any reason you are on blogspot instead of creating your own domain and running a cms or blogging platform off of it? Personally I would add my custom domain to your type of site and then input a blog on your domain. That way you can make money on the site eventually through ad revenue or an ecommerce platform. As for rankings, backlinks are key.
If you start with an aim to make a lot of money you will probably make none. keep updating your blog and build back links
