Hey.. We have just added a great 1 of its kind feature to our website www.giflab.com .. Right now at our website it allows you to upload pictures and output a .gif image. Great for myspace defualt pics.. Well we just developed a new feature which allows you to take a 8 second movie and create a .gif image.. Like the one below.. Works amazing with mac's!! Our traffic has been pretty low and we would like some input on different ways to help drive some traffic to our website? I know we need to purchase paid ads.. Any other ideas?? Any free websites we can post on to help drive some traffic?? Thanks in advance for your time everyone..
When I had a graphics website I posted them to all my friends on MySpace and similar with a link back to my site. Make a "Thanks for the add" video or similar and post a link to you under it that says "Make your own animated gif easily at yoursite.com. Cheers.
You can take a small video of the product you are trying to sell. For example if you have a vase that you want to sell it would be nice to video a complete video around the vase so that people could see there was no damage to the vase front or back ... hope this helps? You could also use it to make moving avatar for forums and market until the cows come home.
thanks lacabra thats basically what I would say to, its good to be able to put a 360 spin on your product on ebay. plus, one auction without one with, I would choose the one with.
I think the good ol' freebie could be useful here. The ebay suggestion is pretty good, as well as the myspace people you're already targetting. So, contact a few of them, offer them the freebie, put the name of your site in the corner or the gif. Word of mouth is usually effective in these cases.
cool design but I really doubt that you can copyright making animated images, it's fairly common thing to do.
This is a fun one: Put your URL at the bottom of all images Put up a strong (> $160) PRWEB press release Myspace bulletins / comments Advertise on myspace resource sites Make it so you host the image for 30 days, then submit to sites like free-webhosts.com (300+ uniques per day) Submit to social networking sites or place links for users to submit (I see someone submitted it on digg... I dugg it) Place a sample image on the homepage! I wouldnt know what it was if I didnt see your demo in the post Good luck.
I know you asked for marketing advice, but one problem with this process is the file size. 500k+ is a bit too big for a 160x120 image me thinks. (And apparently so does ebay and most forums; dont know about myspace). I believe there are already free downloadable software that do this. But an online service I haven't come across yet.
I think your animated picture is really cool. Why don't you make a post at www.freewebspace.net/forums/ I think you'd get a good amount of traffic from a post or two there.
yes i agree 100%.. We are coming out with a revision # 2 very soon.. Thanks for your feedback.. Did you create an account??
Yes Very good stuff.. We are going to do Press releases for the launch of giflab 2.0.. Thanks for the "DIGG" .. Yes in our next release we are going to change the entire home page so its easier for the user to grasp the concept..
Hey.. Myspace cuts off at 600k.. We have to try compressing the image more then it is. 500k is real big for a gif image.. Any ideas?
