I'm curious, because I've always done promoting the old fashioned way. By myself. However, in the near future I'm planning on opening up quite a few more sites and I don't have the time to put into manually promoting each one like I'm used to. So my main question here is, is AdWords worth the buck? Or is it all just controversial?
IMHO AdWords the best environment for the new site. But better you recommened to unwind the complex in search engines.
It is very dependent upon the structure of the ad built and its keywords. Right now google is running a promotion where one of their adwords people will hold your hand and build you an entire campaign for free and give you $100 in free credit (assuming you haven't used a promo voucher yet). I used this service yesterday and while the ad performed amazing, $4-$5 per click through ate my $100 credit in a matter of hours. While I did get 27 new people to my site, not one signed up.
I use adword and cap the bid pretty low. It did generate some purchases from my site http://www.slickgadgetz.com. I was using the $75 new user credit at the time and it generated around $220 sale I believe. Although the profit margin on my site is pretty low so I think it was only around $100 in profit. So about $25 gain after the google ad fee if I were to pay full price. Kinda cutting it close...
It's all keyword based. If you want your ad to show up with the word "pizza" because you sell pizza, chances are the cost for that word will be around $9/click...something really high. The more targeted your keywords are, and the more targeted your ad is, the more successful and ultimately cheaper your ad will be. I suggest doing some research on your market first, what are you selling, how are your competitors in the top rankings selling the same thing, and then pick some keywords and more importantly, key benefits of your business, you want to market towards.
Thank you ALX, that kind of enlightened me a little bit more. I'll definitely do some research on the matter.
Google Adwords ad has a wide reach, where distribution is local and not only nationally but also internationally. That is, the manufacturer from any country can advertise your products or services through Google.
yes , it is a good way , here you can more traffics . but you need to make some more to retain them on your sites .
This is why its really important that you know that your site converts and what ratio it coverts at. Once you know what each person coming to your site is worth then you can calculate whether you'll get a sufficient return on your investment. Hope this helps MB
adwords is the best but first you have need to start from the seo because it also help to create backlinks and pr for your website
