Is it possible to push .ORG domain to #1 ranking?

    Is it possible to push .ORG domain to #1 ranking? Do I need to do more work than pushing a .com/.net domain?

    Yes it is possible, only thing matter here is high quality link backs with desired keyword, if you can get that then you can get #1 easily.

    it is possible, try typing the keyword DMOZ in google and see who is on top :) .. Well, it is a TLD and I don't really think it makes any difference, it depends on your niche and how much effort you put into SEO.

    Why not? All the extension is same. Wikipedia is one of the best example of .org that have tons of keyword listed on #1

    Hey I think google gives more importance to .org :8
    see when I search google for wordperss, the wordpress.org came at the top and wordpress.com is on second position.
    As I know both are having same PR i.e 9

    Actually .org domains are more favored by Google compared to .com domains. Because Google treats .org domains as non-profit sites. But people are used to typing .com domains than .org. Depending on how you optimize your site, it will certainly rank in #1 position.

    According to my experience, the .org and .info domains indeed take more time to get a top ranking in google.
