What is your Adsense Click Through Rate (CTR)?

    Hi All

I am developing a site, and I am trying to work out the optimum placement for my adsense ad units. To help me out, I was hoping that some people might be prepared to tell me what their CTR and what site it is for, so I can see what seems to be working for others.

    Cheers

    Jake

It all about the content and targeted traffic. If your traffic is targeted, your ctr will be high. Of course, you must make sure your ads are obvious. My ctr is about 6% in average

CTR also depends on your ad placements, mine is around 10% on avg.

I've read AdSense TOS which forbids me from revealing some stats such as CTR but anyway, my CTR is [CENSORED], not bad hey?

Exactly. You should not reveal the exact CTR but approximate figures won't hurt the TOS, I believe.

That's fine as long as you are not mention your website but only the ctr

You can believe/guess whatever you want, in the TOS it is written you can't disclose data except for gross earnings. They are quite clear about it, so why believing/guessing you can disclose more?
And what's the point really.. ? Even if I'm not Google police and don't care about other people disclosing whatever they want, I will not do it myself publicly.

What I can say is that my aim is always to have over 5% CTR when optimizing ad placement, once it gets to 5% and above, I stop optimizing.

it all depends on your niche, some niches provide CTR more than 3% up to 10% and some have always less then 1% - niches like technology , products and gifts have highest CTR while wallpapers, entertainment and games have lower CTR

I've been getting 5-10% ctr recently with ads directly above my main content. It is obvious though that the ads are not part of the content. I know google frowns on that.

CTR between 0 and 0.01% ... translates to very little per day.

Damn annoying as the pay has dropped as my traffic has rose, I got more at 1000-2000 visitors a day than at 15-20,000 visitors a day. Still 5000 visitors short of being able to change to a CPM network too :(

My CTR is around 3-4%. Best location for CTR I've found is one of the square ads place Below the title and above the content.

its something about your content and targeted traffic. If your traffic is targeted, your ctr will be high or it will be less only also depends on the ad placements.

On most of my sites, CTR is 3% - 5%. One site I own averaged 26% last month (that's the norm for this site), but that's because most visitors are looking to download something and there are a lot of download ads that appear.
