Please suggest proper keywords for my site.

    My site is about only 3 weeks old and i still can't figure out what will be the suitable keywords for my site. It's sports based site, mainly contain articles at this moment. At first, I targeted "The sports" keyword, but many people said that it is very competitive. Please help some webmasters to find out suitable keyword for my site. Note that i have very long term plan.

    Try to make a list of possible keyphrases
    And use google adwords keyword tool ...

    yes this is very competitive keyword Choose differ and check the KEI of that keyword and use google adwords keyword tool this is very useful tool to analyse keywords & all ...

    Use Google Keyword tool and try to focus on long tail keywords.

    It's impossible for a new site to attain good rank for one word keywords such as sports. I suggest you go to google insights , enter sports as keyword , and get the related long tail keywords from there. You can take those high tail keywords , with traffic percentage as "breakout"

    that's a pretty big niche. Narrow it down, find something really tight and then find a long-tail keyword that will work. Best of luck
