Can google detect and define keywords embedded in flash sites? A discussion took place here on tv this evening as to if search engines can find text/keywords hidden in flash sites. If yes does the language make a difference ? thanx for the help
Hi,,,,no, I dont mean meta data , I mean just simple text like this:http://www.jurtax-frankfurt.de/vk.htm. Its a site of a friend of mine in Germany and they think the text on this page (keywords) can be read by the engines. In fact the page has no meta tags at all the the robots.txt is missing. I always assumed that google engines cant read the with the flash animation.
No, if you can't highlight it google cant read it, flash is basically an animation of images so nope sorry
Its the question I have been asked more than once today....... Can one optimzie a flash only site for SEO ?
I was curious about this recently and asked on a different part of this forum. Here's what I got: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=156630
Just ran the url through a spider simulator and nothing was recognized. Try adding some meta tags and a <noscript> tag with a site map link to start.
Yep.....so...can we assume that search engines can read the embedded keywords in a flash site ?. Can anyone give a definate answer or is a matter that needs debate ?
It is advisable to have a embedded flash site rather than a 100% flash driven site as Google can index pages with partial Flash content: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35267&query=flash &topic=&type=
