Hi folks, I'm finally getting around to creating my very own review site, something I keep delaying for whatever reason. Regrettably I can't afford any of those WordPress review plugins I see. So I searched and found one that seems to do what I need: the GD Star Rating plugin. I already installed it and am playing around. It's been two days since I've tried it, and I'm stumped on maybe one small detail: how to get the comments section of each post to display a multi-star rating. Alas, I can't really afford its author's support. So I checked the plugin's online tutorials, searched WordPress' support forum, checked Google and YouTube for anything about the GD Star Rating plugin...and nada. I tried it one more time in my upcoming review blog, but no dice. Err...can anyone assist? Again, I'm simply trying to get the comment/review section to display a multiple-star rating made in GD Star.
Not sure if I get it right - you want users to be able to star-rate the comments? Or you want the stars to appear on post page? If it's the latter, I think you'd need to change the template file and add there the gd-star code (not sure if there are options in that plugin, will try to check it out tomorrow).
Yup. But instead of just a single set of 5-star rating you maybe normally see in a couple of review sites, I'm hoping to show a multi-set so users can judge the provider based on a set of criteria like price, support, etc. Actually GD Star Rating appears to auto insert the ratings system now, rather than just manually input a code in the post template or so. The rating shows both in the post and comments, but they're all a single-set rating rather than a multi-set. The multi-set rating is showing up in the post, but not the comments. I'm trying to get the multi-set to show up in the comments section this time. Just tried again a while ago before posting here. Still no luck, sigh.
I think that using the "review box" plugin along with gd review should fix your problem. Please let me know how it works out for you.
