Anyone here successful using directories for backlinks? What are the strategies that you employed to get your site listed? I find submitting to directories a waste of time since most of these directories take ages to approve if they even take a look at all. 99% of directories are garbage looking and clones of each other. Is it worth it to submit your site to directories? How did you go about it? Thank you for your replies. Cheers, Wesley
The answer is positive if you can submit to the quality web directories, these crappy fake directories only damage your ranking like link farm that Google hate it and can detect it easily.

all the privacy you will be guarded by Google, it should be the directory site that you make must be good.
yes I am submitting my site to directories on regular basis and with God's Grace I am getting advantage as well..
The quality of the directory has an important role for promotion of sites. Perhaps one of the most important factors is finding the directories on different ip. Personally, I always use the article directories with submitting to social bookmarking and believe it gives good results.

There are some who use directory submission in their link building, yet being successful on this perse, ain't sure about it because for most, this is just a waste of time.
