Optimal places to place Adsense ads?

Where do you find you get the most results from placing your adsense ads? Towards the very top? Or maybe in the middle somewhere? Or maybe where the content is heaviest in the site?

I wonder if there is some type of science behind this. Any experience?

Its just a game of Trying. Not same thing would work on each site.
Just try with each placements and see which one is helping you out in earning more.

I have my ad on top. People aren't crazy about it being there, but maybe I should leave it there. I am considering moving it to the bottom, but I definitely want to get it noticed.

Google a thing called the Adsense/google Heatmap, it shows which places have gotten the most succes and generally get more clicks. Although as mentioned, its all about experimenting, experimenting. Don't try to hide it though put it as close on top as possible.

If you look at an article at my site I have an ad both at the top and in the middle.
The one at the top often get clicked by people who stops reading the article after the introduction.
The middle one is for those who continued reading, it is a great attention grabber since people needs to scroll past it.

For me the middle one works the best.
I have yet not put an ad at the bottom of my post, but I'm sure it would work great because when people are
done reading they usually do three things.
    1. Click back to where they came from (usually Google).
    2. Look for more information (click on ad or related posts).
    3. Post a comment.

Nice! This is some great information so far! I figured the location mattered at least a bit. Every tip helps, right?
