I haven't kept up with what's been going on on DigitalPoint or the webmaster world of directories, but I've never focused much on pagerank as I really don't see it as a huge measure of the quality of a directory (Okay I guess maybe the financial part, as many people submit to high PR directories for PR juice)... but lately, is it still as important as it used to be? I've heard some talk on pagerank being outdated nowadays.
Well having links to increase traffic is important so in that sense pagerank matters but getting pagerank for the sake of pagerank and not traffic isn't worth much.
Yes PR is still one of the powerful factor in grading a directory, but SEO expert can see PR in combination with number of index pages, inbonds links, traffic etc.
Page rank shows your domain popularity your site variability for google... The good webmasters always gives the priority for high page rank sites.....means it varies /matters............
Pagerank matters to about .001 percent or less of the population, some people buy links based on PR, Stupid? Maybe Traffic matters. Traffic=Money
Pagerank is extremely important for directories, why? Because newbie’s that buy links like to see the toolbar PR. The only things that pagerank does are the following: Gets indexed by Google. Keeps your page out of the supplementary index Higher PR means that Google will crawl your site deeper, resulting in more indexed pages if you have a large site. Buying Links on an actual PR page and using the anchor text as the keyword helps to improve serp results. Do not get toolbar PR mixed up with actual PR. Any site that was created after April 2010 has not had a toolbar PR update, but that does not mean ACTUAL PR is not there. People that ask questions like this need to study SEO further. Every single person that has answered this thread is an idiot because all you’re doing is confusing other people that read this thread, and is probably the reason for being confused yourself.
I think PageRank is still useful when building your backlinks, the bigger the pagerank the better the link juice... also some people sell homepage links, for that PR is crucial. But for ranking, pagerank is simply an indicator of how valuable (how much of an authority) your website is.
if your site enjoys a high page rank but you don't use the right keywords then you cannot expect to get search engine traffic. it is important to note that a high pr will get indexed faster. however it does not ensure traffic that depends on your content and other factors
Well, PageRank is just a numeric value which is nothing to do with your website ranking recently. In the past Google use to give more importance for websites with high PR but not anymore. You should concentrate more on getting relevant traffic to your website rather then try to manipulate PR
Page rank matters for your site's value. It is important to note that a high pr will get indexed faster.
I still believe that a higher page rank generates more search engine traffic which means, more conversions. Therefore, page rank is still important.
i think page rank will always matter somewhat. But google wants you to focus on Unique content and thus you will rank hire in serps and get more traffic to your site which is great instead of just copy and paste method which often leads to spam and banned.
