It's depend, what computer level you are. Drupal is higher level th CMS than Joomla but high security. And you need to have some programming skill in order to modify the script. For Joomla, very easy to use a lot of plugins ready to be used.

as FirstHYIPList said, Joomla is easy to work for the beginners. Drupal is rather complex to customize..

I'm sorry, but I find the exact opposite to be true. I started with joomla and it used to confuse me, particularly adding images in content and performing functions so easily done with Drupal. I tried Joomla for a long time and left it alone when I found Drupal. Drupal's block regions and Panels are so easy to configure with a very small learning curve. Placing blocks in regions is so easy with Drupal while Joomla just looked like an admin theme for advanced users. Drupal has an array of useful modules that allow images to be easily inserted into content (IMCE), clean webforms, taxonomies, views etc. Drupal has the best SEO effect too, I find. But then I never gave Joomla a try after it almost scared me to death.

Its not really about which is best. As long as it does what you want it to do and its easy to use thats all that matters.

Heartless 1.0 is right in my opinion. If the CMS works for you and your business then use it :)
I've never used Drupal but I can highly recommend Joomla as there are so many resources already available for it. I love it and it's helped me to learn more about website development since I've used it.
Give it a try if you haven't... I'm interested in trying Drupal and Magento but at the moment, I don't have enough time on my hands to learn a new CMS.

Nonsense, you do not need any programming skill to build a website with Drupal. Also the security of Drupal sites is better then Joomla website still the best protected CMS seems to be Wordpress. How ever, if you update your website regularly and you use common sense then there should no problem with Joomla, Drupal or Wordpress on security level.

The usage of Joomla, Drupal or maybe a system as Wordpress depends on the purpose of your website.

For basic websites with a blog and/or with some static pages I use Wordpress. Easy to use, install and maintain plus they offer a lot of free high-end templates. For more complex websites I use Drupal and most of the time I create a (sub)theme from popular projects. Drupal offers you to build and modify anything you want.

I used Joomla for the websites which were to big for Wordpress but to small for Drupal. How ever since Wordpress developed in a more CMS like system I use Joomla less and Wordpress and Drupal more. These two systems are also more SEO friendly and offer nicer templates with cleaner coding.

So if you are a new comer I would recommend you Wordpress or Drupal depending on the project.

(I read a lot about Drupal being not user friendly and not easy to learn but in my opinion that's is more based on the older version of drupal 5.x since some time 7.x is being used and a lot of things are changed.)

@trecords, I think Drupal is better for Community sites. Even with Joomla 1.6's new access levels, Drupal is more extensible and customizable. Joomla is good for making web applications.
