I have previously been involved in a lot of these types of matrices before my company decided to shift focus in what we choose to promote. This is a 1up sponsoring system. Basically what you do is refer someone, they join, and upgrade. You don't get the first commission because you have to pass the first sale up to your sponsor, hence the 1up effect. Then afterwards you are qualified to earn every sale after that. So when you are actively sponsoring other people, in order for them to be qualified and earn commissions they must pass their first sale to you as well. The trouble with these types of programs, while they do produce a residual income, you must constantly be advertising and marketing this because people always drop out.
