Industry standard for what? The desktop? Perhaps but for operating systems, *nix rules that roost. Microsoft only copies. There is no innovation from Microsoft.
Coins have tow sides, there is no mercy here nor the internet, MS , they force to make some to feed their fellows, besides , they have a lot of department which works isolated, Once we have something new, we become a rich man ! that's why windows 8 is going to be born in w7's beta.
I was thinking the same, Many of us still using xp and Microsoft came up it windows 8.. Little bit too fast.
It's like, makes no sense whatsoever man. I totally hate Microsoft for making no sense - I'm gonna wait for Windows Cloud 9, seriously
While Google, Yahoo and Amazon and many others have been doing cloud computing for many years, Microsoft and Windows only started up such services last year for the first time. As always, Microsoft is late to the game and has no experience in this area and, in 1999, Bill Gates even tried to discourage people from using it. Cloud computing is "old hat" for *nix users who know it as "cluster computing". One of the reasons everyone is so far ahead of Microsoft who never had an entry in this field and is clueless.
Well Microsoft and Apple both are giants, but i prefer Windows XP coz its very user friedly and most of the software's still runs on it.
I hate Microsoft. -- They aren't setting industry standards. They are actually known for avoiding standards that have already been set and forcing users to submit to their proprietary crap, thus forcing it to be a new "standard." Look at how Internet Explorer, a Microsoft product, renders websites. Web developers are constantly having to tweak sites they write in order for it to look good in Internet Explorer. Because of the huge pain designing websites is for IE, you often see "Best if viewed in Firefox" type things on sites. I'm really surprised at the staggering number of IE users. IE users are only a majority BECAUSE of two reasons: Computers come with it and a lot of people aren't bright enough to install a new browser Firefox used to be the most popular, but when Chrome came out a large number of Firefox users moved to Chrome. However, if you add up all the Firefox users and all the Chrome users, they totally outnumber IE users. It's not just Internet Explorer. How about the other crap that Microsoft produces? Oh my god, I will NEVER host with something running Microsoft. Seriously, the entire Internet is practically hosted on Linux machines simply because servers with Microsoft just suck. Microsoft servers suck so bad that there's a running joke that Microsoft.com is on Linux servers (actually not true, but still a funny joke.) The list goes on with the garbage that Microsoft creates and sells. +rep for that. I felt sooo dumb when I was confused about what all the fuss was about cloud computing... I kept thinking, "Hasn't that concept been out kind of for like ever?"
What an amazing answer If your pc cant run windows correctly then upgrade it or change to a lighter OS like ubuntu
Apple software is friendlier Most Mac software doesn't run on Windows so that makes Windows inferior.
