I've got the website mail-maniac.com . Today I accidently typd mail-mania.com instead of mail-maniac.com , and got on a parked domain. How much money does this person make from placing adsense on this typo domain? Is there anyone here with experience regarding parked domains?

IMHO very low to nothing. Just took a site down and now I have it at a parking page at sedo. I have received 2500 unique visitors within the last month and made $0.50.

I've got about 20 parked domains. Only about 6 or 7 get hits and for a typical month I get 100 hits TOTAL and earn something like $2.50 TOTAL.

Yeah, I agree its low...but that's very low. At least you should have made a few bucks. IMHO, parking depends on traffic totally, and that traffic will die out sooner or later if the name isnt developed...unless its a popular dictionary name.

I was going to go into business with a guy who was a domain parker. From my understanding it works like this. You go out, and buy a domain that someone forgets to reregister. Then you park it, and generate the revenue from the remaining traffic. Im not sure how much he really made, though he had something like 2k or 20k domain names. I can see where you can make some money doing that, but you really need to have quanitity.

Its up for sale at sedo. I really couldnt care less between $0.5 and $5, because the domain is up for over $1,000. It could make more with other parking programs, but then it wouldnt have the sedo exposure.

I also think parking is of little help as a source of earning money. Even if the parked sites attract some considerable traffic, the visitors should also click the ads placed on such sites. As a rule, few people click it. As soon as they get the point about the sites they just leave it without any activity.

Parking is great if you have a portfolio of 5,000 average domains, or a handful of amazing domains. The payout-to-traffic ratio is pretty much always going to be terrible, but it really can add up. I park my domains to make just enough to justify the cost of renewing them every year. It makes it easier to have a large portfolio of domains which may some day be valuable. If a domain makes $7.50 in a year, it pays for itself. :)

I have just entered the arena of Domainering. I have more than 90 domains already. And from parking alone, I use NameDrive right now and I just make $10 a month.

Real money from domains come from selling the domains.

In my case, all 90 domains I have, also has a plan for it on how to monetize it in the future. But the problem is, I cannot work on every site right away. So in the meantime while I still work on them one at a time, I do domain parking so at least they still give a few bucks, but is not really something big.

I have about 20 + domains that I park , but they get very little type in traffic probably about 150 hits / month total , I used to be with namedrive and I liked them but one day they just told me they will not host my domains anymore because of suspicious activities , well it was very suspicious for me too since I was making $ 11 FREAKIN` BUCKS a month = THAT IS F***IN SUSPICIOUS !!!! :D

Well, whatever I can`t be angry with them , but since then I bought a plan from www.whypark.com , I believe one of the DP members owns this , I paid about 90 bucks (one time fee ) I thing and you can upload 100 names and put your adsense code on them ( you keep 100 % rev. )

I am not sure if anybody else have used this program , but I think it is pretty decent , if you contact the guy here on DP you might even get a discount , since he pays about 50 % refferal I believe through clickbank .

I had moneymaking-reviews.com which was getting 300-400 unique hits a day and was making about $2 a day.

Pretty good since it was linked traffic from the past (no advertising at all!).

Have anyone actually experienced the claimed WhyPark difference?
Are the profits higher indeed? I would love to hear your experience.

Ballz - which service do you use? I have to find a WhyPark competitior yet...
