India Hates Paypal (or vice versa)

So I have a major client of mine in India and its become way to difficult for him to use PayPal because of some new India Laws (I really don't understand it). What other options do we have to transfer money from India to the United States?

I would really like to keep him as a client.

In recent past many changes made at PP, as per the guidelines of RBI.

It may be to track the transactions by the authority IMO.

TT is a wire transfer - if your client trusts you, you could use it, but it's a bit hard to send one from India I guess (I know you have to go to the bank and declare what you're paying for). Yeah, people are being screwed by the Indian government - they want tighter control over the money flow, so they basically don't allow people to have funds in their Paypal accounts - they need to have an Indian debit/credit card to transfer the money to/from when they use Paypal...

Debit Card not working only need Credit Card.

Actually RBI has no plan for this before making rules they not realize people transfer small sum will suffer most. Those involve in transferring illegal money will find another way. RBI should have to find way to track big fishes not small fries.

WesternUnion would be your best option.

I send and receive payments via Paypal to/from India though and I haven't had any issues.

    What exactly is happening?

There have been considerable amount of amendments in Paypal, which makes it tough for Indians to make the payments via Paypal but they can receive payments through it. Western Union is the best option but the processing fees is quite high.

Why not try Xoom and western union instead? Unless some transfer is in bigger amount already. You can also use Western union but it fees are bit costly

Xoom.com would also work. Possibly ICICI or State Bank of India (SBI) as well

How can you receive cross-nation payments Avish? Local payments are fine but not from country to country. As far as my knowledge goes ICICI or SBI do not facilitate this service.

I can send payments to various clients in India, and I have received a few and have not had problems - however this was a few months back, so I'm not sure if this is still the case.

I thought ICICI has Outward Remittance?

Yes same here. I had being using Paypal but sometime back things have changed. And I am sure that ICICI does not permit the service. So, western union is the other best option left but it sucks because of the fees it charges.

Some Indian Banks debit card work with PayPal. Alternately apply for a credit card. Many Indian banks issue credit card against fixed deposit. Once you link and verify the card in your Paypal account, you can send payment through PayPal using that Credit Card's credit balance.
