Very crisp looking, wouldn't change it much. The spacing of the top bar navigation links is not even in Firefox.
The site strikes me as professional looking. It does not make you say "Wow", but it feels legitimate and passes the initial filters without setting anything off. I like how it is designed more for content than advertising. Sometimes, ostentatious ads completely turn me off on a site. But, with the design you have here, I think you do a good job of balancing your income needs with the interests of your users. The color scheme works well. Green gray and yellow isn't an obvious choice, but you make it work here, and it suits the subject matter. You have a lot of real estate available in your masthead... perhaps later you can use that to make special announcements or let people know about special events or happenings? I'd hate to see prime time real estate like that go to waste. At any rate, I think you've done a great job of balancing content with advertising and making a site that will appeal to your target audience.
