Is it true? Webmasters from India seem to think any amount upto 120 is doable in title tagging ..... Keyword meta title phrasing is a usually a no brainier - how ever ive done my do dillance - as you need to know Truncation of words in totle meta is done only in Googles powered engine ... yaho, and bing do not do that ... that my seo tip of the day...

The truth is here ----> The title of your listing on Google is limited to a 70 character maximum. Anything over 70 characters is truncated with an ellipsis (… ). That’s one reason why it’s important that you include your most important keywords and information within the first 70 characters of your title tag. You can go over the 70 character limit with the rest of your title but it will not appear on the search engine results page.

It's not 70 it seems to be around 100 plus but only 65 characters of title is visible in Google Search Results. So it's worthless to have a big title while no one can see. You need to put all your major keywords within first 65 characters only. After that whatever you write none will see that..

chestercaldwel -- I've heard this before - although - what about the remaining keywords after the first 65 characters - will that be crawled by Google search engine --------- many search engine optimizing companies are recommending 65 characters. Without extending any other characters inside the meta-natural head tag ---------------------

I totally understand that meta- tagging is crucial in search engine optimization ------ when it comes to domination a good domain name linked to the title tags - that may bring more quality traffic --------------

Ive tried that before - back in 2006 it worked - recently - it looks like India webmasterts are taking the new 120 meta title approach ..... seo is tricky - trying different types on different sites could help

Stick with what people like to read, don't build your website for search-engines that's the biggest mistake you can make. Also it's good to look what others do but find your own way in it. Meaning, because some people do something that doesn't mean it's the 'right' or best way.

So in my opinion, titles should be logical and make sense for visitors and shouldn't be stuffed with keywords certainly not with keywords which don't appear on that certain page.

Meta Title Tag ? What is that ? There is no such thing as a Meta Title Tag, it is the Title tag. Notice in your code, there is no "meta" tag before it.

And you don't have a limit to how long your title could be but note that only 65 characters get displayed in SERPs. So you might want to keep it in between that amount.
