Anyone here measured before the conversion rate between Text and Graphic ads, which one has the higher rate? Any idea? The reason is my site more of the income was from text ads rather than graphic ads. Any comments?
From my research and testing, it seems that text ads get less clicks, but pay more, while image ads get more clicks, but pay less. Of course there are exceptions. Some sites do better with image ads, and some do better with text.
Well as per industry review, if your site has more text content then some image ads will work pretty well for you. Where as if your site has more images then text ads will do well. So bottom line is what type of content you have text/images ? usually by default we use text/image ads which is pretty good for ctr.
Yes I agree, according to a case study on Google Adsense, changing to both text/images ads increases your earning.
I find that images helps because people see the images faster and they might not accidentally click or know that they can click on the word..
Depends on the layout. I find that text ads convert extremely well. I have one site where the CTR is probably way too high (about 80%). Good for me but, could raise alarm bells with Google. Although, I am not violating any rules. This is how I do it In the body I have a paragraph or so of text, then I put in a text ad. With the text ad, make the borders the same colour as the document background. Think about it, borders are designed to keep people out. So, subconciously people tend not to focus on what is inside (identifing it as an advert). Then I continue with a paragraph or two and it all blends in. Here is an example of how I use this technique - http://www.magicalmerimbula.com.au/ Too easy
Different website have different performance on the ctr. You gotta try them out to know the actual result. Lazy doesn't make money but practice/testing does
You earn more per click but the tradeoff is you get substantially less clicks. At least this is from my experiences. techbytes
Suggestion: Signature links for texts not with adsense Adsense: Images and not with texts, after all -do you really want them clicking away before they are done reading the article? You have more control over the images.
it totally depends on the type of sites. actually its opposite. if you have a site with no image then graphic ads will be just great but if your site already has a lot of images then text ads will be great. thanks
If you ask me, image based ads attract my attention, and I usually click on them if I am interested. However, I don't care much for text ads unless it's placed well. For example: there is an image based ad in the sidebar. It will catch the attention of the reader more than text based ads on the sidebar. However, if you were to place the text based ads in or on top of the content (articles, posts, etc.) where it is more noticeable, some people will be tempted to click on them. It's all about placement.
So, do you think that they get more because of people not clicking on them as much like they would with the image?
I think image ads are more effective in attracting the attention of the visitors of a web site. But text ads are also equally effective for some other sites. It all depends on the layout and the type of the web site.
