Hi everyone, I need some advice before I jump into what I have going on in my head. I am start a new military social network, well it's 3 years old but I am just now getting serious about it. Anyways, I was thinking about hosting a blog writing contest. Basically something like: - 300-500 words - User rating system - Topic must be military related - 1st Prize $100, 2nd $50, and 3rd $25 - The 3 with the highest scores win after a 30 days entry So there are things like where to announce the contest, how do I get the interest, and does this type of thing really work. Can anyone give me some advice about what I might be missing or how the best way to go forward would be? I am hoping to run this between June 15th and July 15th. Thanks in advance! Adam
Places of interest would be facebook pages related to the military as well as military and military technology forums or blogs. They don't have to be official military website, but civilian owned
I totally agree with the use of facebook and you could also find other military forums and join up get to know the owners and posters and then approach the owner about mentioning or even endorsing your contest. A recommendation from a forum owner is far more powerful than just announcing on a forum. Hope that helps Regards Ron
I’m so excited to help sponsor your content Michaelii! Simply Fresh Themes should be going live next week, so all of your contestants can take a look. In the meantime, they can check out the theme here:
I agree on mentioning the contest to the forum owner so they can help you in endorsing it which will help you to gain more attention from the members.
Write in 1st person rather than 3rd. Insert images if you can. Make it factual and lively rather than writing with a sleepy feel.
