Well, if its old, why would it be in the sandbox? Google puts site that aren't of quality in the sandbox - and congratulations. Now get your rankings up!

The sandbox has nothing to do with updating your site regularly.

It's when your site disappears from the rankings, usually from building a large number of links. It's temporary 99 percent of the time, but still a huge problem.

Google Sandbox is a Filter that Google uses to prevent new website with smart but over seo implementation. It effects a particular page not whole of the website.

Now "techabsolute" in your case Yes your page was filtered but not for sandbox but for others who are having much fresh and updated content....

In google's eye your website whatever is....nice but with some updates in main content (lacking your major keywords etc), changes in Titles, meta description, etc can take your website Up or Down rank.

And when you updated your content it bring back you in competition.

So, its nothing have to take with Sandbox like filter...!

From what I've heard the sandbox is a one way street to hell. There is no getting out of it. That's why I always make backup sites that are basically clone sites but with unique enough content to be considered another site. Sometimes google does strange things or perhaps you did some blackhatting that got you in trouble or maybe a competitor really doesn't like you and hacked your site, whatever the reason you should be on the safe side and create a back up site.

I think google usually puts new sites in the sandbox not old sites.
