OK, SEO is not really the correct phrase here, it is more about how best to get your website found in the search engines. Since the recent Google Panda (Farmer Update) SEO is no longer what it was. There have been some significant changes which now need to be undertaken in order give yourself the best possible chances. 1) Create unique content 2) Engage heavily in Social Media OK, those two main headings there cover a lot that isn't mentioned including techniques, basic SEO changes, backlinks, reporting & analytics, usability, local results, citations and co-citations, SMM techniques, which Social Media sites Google looks at most readily, how Social Media mentions help and how to build your followers and many more. The emphasis now is on Content and sharing it. You need to be able to write interesting, engaging and above all, unique content that is going to keep your visitors on your website. Use poor quality content at your own risk now because Google is looking at this heavily. Backlinks still play a huge part but you need to look at how these are gained. Purchase cheap bulk backlinking services if you wish, but remember that Google is undergoing lots of changes in the way it ranks websites. The best links are still gained through great content but now mentions and citations through Social Media are playing a huge part. Based on the fact that Google, Bing and Yahoo all use social signals in the ranking process, do you not think that this is an area to focus on? There are a small handfull of Social Media websites that Google looks at in greater detail than others, so it would be advantageous to concentrate your efforts here. I could write an entire paper on how to undertake SEO now and it has changed so much since last year. Having done this for 10 years now, I have seen some huge changes and one thing I have learnt is that you should never try and second guess Google and when they say "these are important" you sit up and take notice! Regards, Andy
Good information Andy. I hope people really understand the part that lots of cheap links are not going to give you any benefit any more. You need very high quality links that are coming from unique content from authority sites.
I appreciate the efforts of iNET SEO to highlight the value of Social media in current SEO process. Hope many starters would get benefited from this information.
Any number is good to get you started. Just make sure they are well targeted and are interested in your product but at the end of the day, the larger the number, the greater your chance of success
