Google Alerts are invaluable to me... Every time somebody on a forum says something about a product I sell or an initiative I am involved in, I hear it. It really allows me to stay on top of things. In my opinion, everybody who does business on the internet should have a couple set up.

I set up Google Alerts for all of the primary keywords for my websites and blogs. This keeps me informed of activity in my niches and gives me a continuous source of material for new content. I don't read all of the alerts every day; it would be too time consuming. But, instead, filter and file them so that I can go back and review the alerts when I am updating a website. It's fairly easy to scan the alerts and find the ones that have something worthwhile.
