It's purpose is to verify your address. It's sent via mail. When you enter the correct pin, they know that you have received their letter and thus have a valid address.
you will get a letter in the mail from google and it will have it. if you would click around within adsense you would find this out very easily
it is an authentication code to verify your address, if your postal address is correct or not. and it also helps to detect the address fraud system/
you will get a pin form google on your adsesne account mentioned address. so varify your existnace so that they can send you payment.
I think there is more about having an address. No doubt proving one's existence is important but more importantly it is about finding global distribution of Adsense publishers for Google's marketing strategies.
Does Google send this Pin to all Countries? Also Does Google send this mail by Post or Courier? The postal system here is Pathetic and I doubt I'll receive any mail that is sent by regular post.
Yes, Google sends it to all countries and it is sent by regular post. I think they'll send you PIN by courier if you email them and explain the situation.
Yeah! you're right, they send it by First Class Mail to everybody. I've contacted them to see if they would provide alternative to Pin verification or address verification. Let's see what they reply. Thx
PIN it is a personal identification number used by Adsense team to verify the address that you provided exists on this planet or not.
Another question whether they will send the Pin by themselves when the payment reaches$50 or we have to request them to send it?
Also, do they inform you about sending it, like on the main adsense page after login. I'm sure they must be sending an e-mail prior to letting the pin loose in the postal system.
As soon as you'll reach $50, they will send the PIN automatically on the address in your profile. A small info box will appear on your stats page which will say something like this, "Payment on hold. Action is required to release the payment". When you'll click it, it will take you to a page where you can enter PIN number which you have received from regular mail. Hope this helps.
Hey mbhaila, They give you alternatives only when you have requested your PIN 3 times and still fails to receive it. Goodluck
