Starbucks sells cake pops, but I've never tried them. On YouTube I found this video with step by step instructions on how to make them at home. They look delicious. Have you ever tried them? I think I'll attempt to make a batch sometimes this week.
I've seen these before but have never had one myself. They would be really fun to make with the kids. Thanks for reminding me of them.
I made cake pops today. They were good, but not perfect. I think I added too much frosting. The dough wasn't firm, and sunk down slightly in the freezer. Also, I didn't add any candy sprinkles, and ran out of melted chocolate dip. I used a cake mix in two layers, that was fine. But, then I added an entire container of frosting, although I should have only added half. I only had about 12 ounces of melted chocolate, but probably should have bought twice as much. They were sort of like, fudge on a stick...very sugary. You can probably only eat one of these in a day, or two at the most...Right now, I'm on a sugar high. I just had one of them with a cup of coffee.
Hi, These Cake Pops look amazing! I wish to be able to make them as good as this! Maybe with some extra time off work, I could try and let you know my results Nook
Let me know how it turns out. I really like them. But, they're so rich -- you may not be able to eat more than 1 or 2 a day. They didn't really take too much time to make. You just mush up the cake with frosting, roll in balls with sticks, place them in freezer for 45 minutes, then pour melted chocolate over them. In the video, the lady used a double broiler to melt the chocolate. But, I just used the microwave, so it was fast. They also seem to store well in the freezer. I'll just grab one whenever I need a sugar rush.
