For SEO purposes is it better to have an exact match domain in a .us/.org or to have a NON-keyword .com domain. Example www.exactmatch.us www.???keyword???.com Thanks
yes it is ofcourse better to have exact match domains. If you'd have done this a year ago, you would have been on top easily. However, after google's panda update, things are changed. But still having an exact match'ed domain would help you.
An Exact Match .org will give you a boost. Much better than a non-keyword .com The .us domains are losers. You don't an exact match bonus. The exact match domains are generally ranking well after Panda. But in some über-competitive niches the EMD domains have dropped to the 2nd page.
One word exact match if possible. Two word exact match if possible. One keyword + Other word. These are the three options you have in the exact same priority.
Exact match domains still do well, but there have been rumblings from Google, that they may be the next thing they address: Google will be looking at why exact domain matches rank so well. For example, if you have a site at www.blue-widgets.com it may rank a bit too well for the keyword phrase [blue widgets]. http://searchengineland.com/key-takeaways-from-googles-matt-cutts-talk-at-pubcon-55457
I personally could see Google taking away some of the benefits from EMD's since people use them to their advantage and it can make a new site that might be better at a disadvantage to rank against the EMD.
