Microsoft security essentials is good, but if your willing to pay some $$ then go for Kaspersky Internet security.

MS Essential is a great anti virus except it consumes a batch of “memory usage”. Avast Is an immense anti virus though.

Microsoft Security Essentials missed a Trojan on a relative's box a couple weeks ago. Since then, Consumer Reports has downgraded it, too. So all the Windows boxes have been switched back to the highly rated AVG.

Btw, you need this since you obviously don't know how to use search so your computer literacy is very low.

I must be the only one here who uses Norton. It's a memory hog, but it does everything itself. I never have to update it, set it to scan, etc. Comes with firewall, antispyware, email scanner, etc. It's alright. I loved AVG back in the day, however.

Kaspersky, no doubt with that. It's been getting the best results in all tests for some long years now.

May I suggest you give a Linux based OS a try; something like Ubuntu? It's free and by definition resistant to all know Windows viruses.

Seriously, I've stopped using AV software on my Windows boxes like years ago. All that AV programs do is take up system resources. Be smart with what you download and which pages you visit and that's it. If you ever get infected, reinstalling Windows is like 45mins.
