Hello I am trying to do a couple of affiliate competitions. One to increase the amount of affiliates promoting my product and the 2nd to help increase sales (like a sale incentive) For each competition there would be one prize, each being worth around $150. I am having problems thinking up some good competitions, does anyone have any ideas of some that might be effective?
To increase the number of affiliates promoting the product, I would actually see if there is anything that I could give away to all of them, like a valuable digital product or even a deep discount on something. Of course, you could add a drawing for the $150 prize just for joining as an affiliate, too. For your current affiliates, why not just go the classic way by offering the prize to the affiliate with the highest amount of sales in a given time period?
Some form of affiliate of the week / month? Offer prizes, and recognition. And as danayala said, a good idea is to just offer them it as they join.
I never really like this idea, because it leaves out the small guys. If your program has affiliates that are bringing in several hundred sales a month, then the small affiliates that only bring in a few sales have no chance of winning, hence no incentive to even try. I'd rather see a promotion where for every sale you make during that week / month, you get entered into a draw. Make 20 sales, get your name entered in 20 times, kind of thing. Then randomly pick one winner.
I think the best way would be as you said, Discounts to high selling affiliates. I would be willing to possibly sell some of your products on my site, send me your website link and i will look at your products and let you know if i will let you know if i am interested.
