What are the basic rules for Directory Submission, please provide your view and experience some of the following:

Is there any limit for submitting links for a particular keyword?
How important is choosing the category, keyword and description?
How to procure FEE directory submission list?
How you should structure the keyword on the website for which you are doing directory submission?
How many submission you need to do if you need 2000 Approved submission for a url.
Can directory submission help improve your Facebook fan page rank.
Any other information you would like to share.

Basically there is no such bounded limits present and there are too many free sited available on the google search that shows free lists of directories. Choosing catagory and keywords is important bcz other wise you may not get possible traffics. For expert I guess 2250 to 2500 submissions will be enough to approved url submission.

Undoubtedly, keywords and category are the most important, because the searching runs through them particularly... and description is not less important. There is no limit on free directories, the most important is the originality of description and urls .

In directory submission most important thing is category. You have to choose right category for your site. If you do not choose right category is difficult to get the back links through directory submission.

Are you referring to rules or guidelines? And are you asking this question from the perspective of "directories in general as a whole" with regards to SE's? Or that of individual directories?

I think most of the questions you ask with regards to an individual directory sort of depends on the directory itself.

If you are asking these questions as what is general acceptable in terms of what an SE will favor or frown upon, then its completely debatable.

The only way to find answer to most of your question is by you actually experimenting. Directories varies a great deal as they are mostly owned by small webmasters, some of them part-timers who do not even come online every day.

How many submission you need to do if you need 2000 Approved submission for a url.

Much more important than approval is the search engines actually finding links from a directory.

Submitting just for approved links is of little help to a site.

    Before to submit your site into any directory;
consider about your title, description and mostly the category selection.
It is better to put your site name as your title, Description must clear which show your site nature and select your category exact as per your site nature.

Directory submission is simple but you need to take care of few things before submitting your website to directory
Title ( Keyword you are targeting )
URL ( check www or without www)
Desc : Right Keyword Density no stuffing your keyword
Category : Choose closest category of your website

I think the only rule is to submit your site on the correct category.

Please follow the following rules -
    1. Choose the relevant directory
    2. Submit your site only once
    3. Submit your homepage only
    4. Choose the relevant sub-category from the list
    5. Read the submission guideline
    6. Use email address from the same domain

Don't put your site in any random category because if you do so, you are actually decreasing the chances of your link being approved. choose the proper category and don't submit the same link more then once in a single directory. read the rules before you make a submission and try to use same title and description on not more then 10 directories to avoid duplicability.

Every directory has guidelines so following them is the most important thing when submitting to directories.

    Thanks Brian
