i hope this is the place to put this. if not, could someone please redirect me. i have a complaint against iWeb hosting. i ordered a server from them and after finding out that they charged $5 per ticket and i had to wait 36 hours for the first ticket to be responded to, i asked to cancel the server. their policy is a full refund if cancelled in the first 30 days. 6 days later and 6 tickets later i still do not have my money. they keep giving me the runaround. beware of iWeb..
This is a proper section. And really? they charge for support tickets? May be they still are in windows98 era. Anyway, I can only imagine how bad your experience has been and how it feels. Good luck for your next host. Do not hesitate to PM me if you need any help.
They definitely shouldn't charge per ticket, I don't know if I've even heard of that before, let alone waiting that long for a ticket to be answered. Have you tried giving them a call?
I was about to ask the same question. I have never heard any company charging per ticket before. Try to call em up and see what they've got to say.
they do not answer so you have to leave a message.. i also did 'live chat' with them and they just keep telling me they are 'processing' my refund.. i KNOW that doesn't take 7 days.
to be fair, they DO give you 15 free minutes a month.. LOL and then it's $5 minimum per ticket.. that charge goes up with how long they take to resolve your problems..
Why are people so surprised at being charged for a support ticket on a dedicated server? If it's a fully managed server, or there is a problem with the hardware, or some other issue related to service, then charging isn't fair, but if it's an unmanaged server then charging for support is just fine. The clue is in the words "unmanaged" i.e. do it yourself, or pay someone else to do it. 36 hours is too long for a reply, and not replying to another 6 tickets is not good, so I'm not defending that, and you have a reason to complain. Also, charging just to submit a ticket is a bit rich. Charge for the work - sure - but not just to ask a question. I'm a bit surprised because iWeb are a large company and pretty good at what they do. I think something has gone wrong here - ticket lost, emails not getting through - because they doesn't seem like the iWeb I'm aware of. Have you tried calling them instead just to clear things up in case there's been a mistake somewhere?
Yeah they have to be one of the worst providers ever, I don't know who ever would charge on a per ticket basis, they normally refund your money in 2 weeks or so.
Upps, 5$/ticket? Seems they dont care for their customers and 36 hours enough time to die before the doctor come
Just choose another hosting. I had tons of bad providers in the past, but I now have a good one - no more stress.
wow- that's great for you.. finally one positive after 27 negatives on this forum and WF.. not a great percentage but at least they can claim they have you.. if in fact, you don't work for them.. LOL..
