Something I found today is that a LOT of directories do not have relevant keywords in their meta tags for their categories. I feel if you are going to list your site in a directory there needs to be proper keyword tags in that category to which you are submitting to increase the relevance of that category to your site's topic. Am I wrong here? Is it a legitimate concern?? Also -- Does anyone know of a tool/plugin that would make it easier to find the keywords of a directory's category pages (or any site for that matter) other than to go thru the steps of "view source" on a page?
No feedback?? Is it another stupid question of mine? Just wondering because I found it a bit odd... one directory I saw had a big long string of keywords about Minneapolis on it with no mention of the word directory or any relevance to the category of the directory...??? Any input at all would be appreciated.
The only 'stupid question' is the one that's never asked, so your question is a good one! I think you're right about having the proper metatags and descriptions for a category. I can admit to being guilty in not building my metas properly and individually, but I do possess a good excuse. Just know that phpld does offer the ability for you(the submitter), to enter in your own individual meta info (keywords and description). Whetehr or not the directory's owner allows meta is up to their sole discretion.
