Guys, Apologize if same thread exist before. This is totally newbie questions I would like to start blogging since writing is the only skill I have. But I also want to make money from blogging. So after I have a blog, in this case if I want to blogging about self development, then what to do next if I want to make money from blogging? Is it just having Google ad-sense and other ads in my blog, hoping people will click it? Or do I have to post affiliate links of Self development product, hoping people interested in it and buy from my affiliate links? Should I post my articles on ezinearticles, goarticles etc to get people visit my blog and click affiliate links or adsense link that interest them? Thanks in advance
The best thing I would suggest you to do is refrain from any form of advertising for six months and spend the entire time for content writing and promotion. Post one new article every three days and at the end you will be having sixty articles. Attract traffic from similar niche blogs. I have a big list related to self development blogs and forums. I will post it here if you want. And then start reviewing products to earn money . I mean to say affiliate sales. They work better than Adsense if you ahve the trust of your users. Select one product every month and do hard work on it.
Wow, thanks a lot for your reply Ranjith. I think one articles every three days is not so hard, I feel I can do it. Yes, please kindly post the list. Highly appreciate
just increase your website traffic for getting better and fast result. it create lots of money for you in short time.
The best way to make money is to come up with your own service. I've been blogging three years now and I made little or no money! I started my own service and now I'm making over 600 usd a month!
Yes, bbrian017 is right, introducing your own service is a great way to make money from your blog. As ranjithsf1 said, making sure you have a good amount of content on your blog before focusing on making money. Submit your blog to as many directories as you can, perhaps try some article marketing, quest posts.. What I mean by this is, writing some articles for other bloggers, they will publish your post on their blog, but the way you will get traffic is by a link left at the end of the post, If you can get a article on a high traffic blog, many of that blogs visitors could become your visitors. I hoped this helps, if You want to know any other ways just send me a message. John.
Thanks for all your replies guys. Okay, I'll focus on the content first. In other words I should have mindset of giving value and not make money right? So I will start to setup my blog first, learn how to use wordpress, and once it is published, I will need your favor to review my blog
Here is the list of blogs. The first one is mine, though not truly related to self development, it addresses somewhat similar issues. 1. http://alightheartedtalk.blogspot.com/ 2. http://www.asparkstarts.com/ 3. http://hustlersnotebook.com/ 4.http://www.unlockthedoor.net/ 5. http://discoveringpurpose.co.uk/ 6. http://www.2achieveyourgoals.com/ All the blogs mentioned from 2 to 6 are comment luv enabled. If you want more comment luv enabled sites then go to the third blog (Hustlers notebook). Most of the posts there have between 50 to 100 comments and the blog links placed there are mostly comment luv enabled. The above blogs are the ones that I read regularly. And the forums list is here 1. http://www.selfdevelopmentforum.com/ 2. http://www.freeratio.org/index.php 3. http://forums.psychcentral.com/ 4. http://www.depressionforums.org/forums/ I am a member of only the first forum. The others are also good. - Ranjith
Wow! Great! Thanks a lot Ranjith Looks like I will learn so many things from those blogs. Once again. Thanks
Have you buy any domain for your blog? if not than you should to consider it since it is important to get start, build your first blog on your favorite platform (wordpress) is the best option to start blogging, than blog in your desire niche, if you have some money to invest you may also think to buy an autoresponder service, start building your list.
Yes, you need to have good traffic to your site in order to earn from affiliate marketing links. So, buy a good domain for your blog, host it on blogger and write regularly. that will bring u the traffic.
Well, I still have to learn how to promote and building link Yes already. But it's a give away from a friend who unable to get profit from selling self development ebook. So he quit and give away his domain and hosting to me. Well, I have no choice but to build self development blog based on domain name. Currently I have just finished writing three articles of 300 - 500 words per article, what a tough work for me But not publish my blog yet. I have to customize header, and write minimum 10 articles before I publish it.
There are other ways to monetize your blog besides just affiliates and Adsense. You can write an ebook (or hire someone on Odesk to write it for you) and sell that. If ebooks aren't your thing, you can sell audio files, videos or e-courses / tutorials. If you want consistent, reliable income, membership subscriptions is another way to go. But downside to that is, you have to come up with really awesome content every month to keep people subscribed (they will cancel their subscription if you don't offer value) Another often over-looked income stream are donations. If you provide good value to readers, some kind-hearted ones will donate money. If you find the word 'donate' a little off putting, you can try "buy me a beer/coffee" And there's nothing wrong with having a combination of these to monetize your site! Why? Well I know a few bloggers who have had problems with Adsense. Some have reclaimed their income, some haven't. So totally relying on one source of income is dangerous if that source were ever to stop and you have a family to support! That's why diversity is good protection against that. If Adsense were to stop, you'd still have ebooks / donations / products / membership subscriptions to back you up.
Well, I do have intention to write my own ebook someday, though I still don't know what niche I should targetting. Yes I agree, we cannot rely on one source. So first I'd like to start from blogging and affiliates. Maybe I'll get other ideas later on my journey to IM success
