Was browsing around. Noticed the following website had 16 advertisement banners on a single page.

How on earth do they get away with that?

Some ad networks dont care.. they will just drop your CPM to 0.02 where as you could make the exact same amount with only 3 banners really.

I see sites every day that are nothing more than pages of ads with poor scraped or copied content fit around it. Obviously they don't last long on our networks, they are bad value for advertisers and are usually a result of lazy webmasters who think they can make a quick buck spamming the search engines or having hundreds of crappy sites filling the web. Fortunately the tide is turning, Google is heavily penalizing such sites and surfers are getting sick of spammy sites in search results thus putting more pressure on the search engines to weed them out.

I think I have seen more actually, although they have a lot of ads it's not really distracting IMO.

the more ads you place on a page, the less beneficial it will be for the advertisers and the less revenue you will earn
its always recommended to put a maximum of 3 different ads on any single page and don't fill the page only with ads

At one point, I had 5 ads on a page. I then dropped it down to 4. Now, I'm down to 3. Let's see how this experiment works. First day was good. Made the same amount as when I had 5 ads.

I thought about it from that perspective as well. My competitors are notorious for filling up a page with ads. Maybe I can break apart from everyone by being one of the rare sites that has a small number of ads?

Experiment seems to be working pretty well. I made a little over $40 on this particular website (with just three ad banners) on the first day of the experiment.

I should be able to bump that up to $50 a day if I can find another quality CPM ad network to add to the rotation.
