What are Social Deal?

Facebook is launching Social Deals. what do you thing about it. it would be helpful or not?

 

Social deals is the new deal program recently launched by facebook.
It is focused to get more local leads.
The concept is very simple, you actually actually into real time offers using facebook credits.

Some twists, Merchants need to have facebook pages before they can participate in Social deal. Not every deal has discount and merchants can set the limit on many vouchers can be purchased.

 

I would assume that would be very similar to what Groupon is doing.

Many big companies started copying Groupon after their rocketing success.

 

Promotion of social networks is a valuable target market

 

Yes, it is somewhat similar to groupon but with some restrictions to the merchants.

With social deal you can share and privately invite selected friends and ask them to join you or expose them to a deal. Facebook users can message each other and discuss the deal as a group before collectively buying.

 

Sounds so interesting especially for store owners and companies. Hope it would bigger application for businesses for free.

 

I guess anything the social networks do is always good as the traffic/leads are often so targeted.

I think they would be helpful. Lot's of site entered this market after the groupon success. Also it will be easy to access the offers from the facebook account.

 

really targeting social media sites helps in Raising ROI ....

 

I do also thinking this is helpful. May be some similarity with Groupon.

 

Facebook launched a new deal site?? uh?? I haven't heard about this. If it is true, then sure it will beat Groupons.
