    Hi,
to keep it short. For my tax statements i need to print Private Messages together with paypal statements to prove payments and that i dont fraud tax.

Since email adresses are crypted now, its not possible to see it in the pm/emails and connect it with paypal payments.

Please uncrypt emails in PMs or at least uncrypt them when you have 20+ Itrader.
I am sure that more people have this problem. The tax officals dont accept the payments from me, without an Email Adress.

    Regards,
    Yves

Shouldn't the email be in your PayPal statement already?

    Oh, well yes.

Sometimes when we need to perform a search in our email box to find a particular message or such, it is no joy. I wonder, what exact purpose does email encryption serve?

If you search your PM for the email, it should work fine. Is it not?

Nope, if I search withing my GMAIL for a the email address contained within a PM (The copy of those PMs that is sent to me via DP every time I receive a PM) - I don't get the email.

Honestly, DP's newly built PM searching feature is great - but not as great as Google's search function, TBH. Hence, I would love to be able to find the relative information on my finger tips right from my inbox, as I used to be just a few months ago.

True... well either way, doing something for the encrypted emails within PMs was already on the to-do list (been there for awhile).

And the other problem will be the number of stored PMs .

You can store up to 5 K massages in DP but in the other hand you can store 5 M massages in Gmail :D

And - 5K too for premium members. For non-premiums, it's even much lower.
So it means that once a PM has gone - you can't recover any email out of it. No matter how important it was - it just gone for good.

I still wonder about my original question - what is the need of that crypting in the first place anyway?

Yes , It could be a major problem for non premium members like me :)

Email addresses are crypted in order to avoid spammers for collecting these emails . They work base on the codes of the pages . For example if you see the codes of this page you can not find :)
