Hello. I dont know if this threat was discussed before on this forum. Last day I got a letter from adsense team saying to review my ads placement and move away the ads that are close to flash content to a distance of 150px. I saw that I'm not the only one ho recived this letter, I forgot to mention that I a arcade site. I'm curios to know is only arcade owners got this mail, or all of the sites owners that have flash content on it. I tryed my best to make the changes, and i was forced to apeal to another advertiser other then adsense. At the moment I settled and I'm happy with adsense(away to 150px) and epic game ads wich at the moment is making me more money then adsense. My question is: what do you think is happening with google adsense?
Yes Google doesn,t read images and the search engine robot doesn,t understand the flash content and because of these google is not able to deliver right ads to your website they are telling u to move your where the website as a little bit content this will help u and the advertiser and Google as well.......
the said that the reason for this is invalid clicks. Because the kids are creating invalid clicks when they are playing flash games with the mouse. And they had some complains. Any way this change made my adsense income go down 50-60%. What a waste. Butt I wont give up. I still see great potential in arcade sites.
I got the same mail and changed the ads on my sites. I have made at-least 100 px gap between adsense and flash. Ctr is down but cpc is up. Only thing to worry is one of my game sites got 60% views on Friday as compared to other Fridays. I am keeping a close watch on the sites this week.
LOL, this is totally wrong. Don't listen to this guy. You already know the reason. People are trying to play your games and accidentally clicking the ads when they meant to click somewhere in the game.
You should move the ads to 150px not 100px. They say to move the ads to at least 150px. I would not risc my account. I know that the site looks a little weird with so much space, but i managed to fill the empty spaces with banners from epic game ads. And they pay very good.
yeah I also got about similar like this before and did what google told me. you should also do that as the email says.
Are you sure you can put epic game ads along with adsense ads? I don't think google adsense allows any other ads to be displayed.
There is no problem to display epic ads. In adsense tos there is no place where it say that they should have exclusiviti and you are not allowed to display other ads. And the cool thing with epic ads is that they advertise arcades so you dont get viagra or other ads that are not related.
Hey school games I know you from our arcade webmaster forum. So you get the letter huh? It is from invalid clicks. Chineese and other teir 3 traffic is notorious for clicking any and everything that moves. If you were getting lots of clicks that didn't pay you or only paid $.01 cents/click, then you were getting large numbers of invalid clicks. Adsense cracked down on low quality sites that were sending, unconverting traffic to adwords advertisers. I created a thread on our forum about this and found out most of these arcades were trading traffic. Take a look at other niches and notice that niches that trade traffic has allready been baned from Adsense. It was a matter of time before they got to us. I dont trade traffic and I never got a letter from adsense. Most of my clicks averaged about $.08-$.10 cents a click. I ended up moding my gamepage to accomidate the 150px though since Im about to receieve payment and dont wanna risk it. But like Antz said, if you didnt get contacted, you're doing it right.
I`m not a big fan of trading trafic. I only trade trafic with my sites and 2 other friends. About recieving the letter I dont think is only about me. I saw that Google changed their policy and I think all the game site owner are going to recieve this letter, invalid clicks or not. Here check this link to see that they implemented the 150px spacing in their policy http://www.google.com/adsense/suppo...uide.cs&guide=29872&topic=29878&answer=187658.
