I've just started using adsense http://www.michaelthorn.co.uk - unfortunately because of my name i'm getting quite a few ads relating to Thorn related content which isn't really what i want! What i want is SEO, Webmaster and Computer related ads showing up on my site - not a load of random links with the word Thorn in them Do i need to concentrate on including more page specific keywords in the content? Do my description meta tags make a difference? Or is it just a matter of waiting for google to properly index my new site and design and pick up on the content of my site? Your thoughts on the position and placement of my ads would also be appriciated.
wait for google to fully indexed your site, the last cached recorded was 7 Jan 2006 & 2 Jan 2006. get more links, for your site to be visible by SE bots and add more content related to ads you want to display. visit several webmaster forums, ask for link exchange by adding a live link to your site.
Thanks for the advice - i've already started backlink building and as you say it hasnt been indexed since January hence why i decided it would be a good idea to start with a new site design and concept!!! Shouldnt take more than a couple of days to get indexed...
Yer, ive been using the google adsense forum to get get some answers - its more down to my site not being indexed as yet and also not having really define specific keywords on each page - each page is rather vague. The ads im using (in the top left hand corner) are also in a rather 'cold' area of the site - hence people aren't likely to be clicking on them. Going to look at integrating more ads at the end of each article.
Seriously? You have 3 entries on your blog and the only thing you are worried about is getting relevant ads? Why? Are there like 1000 people on your blog every day clamoring for relevant ads? Focus your attention on what matters for now -- adding content. Nothing else should matter until you have that part situated.
