I hope Microsoft dont mess Skype with lots of crappy advertisement and irrelevant technical developments
Ditto. I downloaded skyp a few years ago.... I dont remember the credentials. But this is NOT going to urge me to check it out further. How much debt did they receive with their purchase.
wow this is huge I hope skype chatrooms come back pleasee if it does Microsoft will be in a step into the right direction
I think you're right about the subscription. It'll either be a subscription or they'll end up putting ads popping up on the video call. Got to be some way that they are going to use it to claw back some money
google will now start to create one of thier own and is better than skype. linux developers will also be on the go too
No they don't. They've spent billions on companies just in the past five years that eventually were closed down. Microsoft is not intelligent when it comes to acquisitions.
I agree with Dr. Howard they ruin their acquisitions. They did this only in effort to keep up / gain on lost ground to Mr. Google. Beyaaaa. -MT
Well crap. Time to get rid of Skype and switch to my own stuff only. That kinda sucks. I have been happily using Skype for a long time now, even have a phone number with them, i better look into that. No way in hell am I sticking around for MS to muck it up. I already pay a monthly subscription for Skype. MSN had something before where you could make calls to landlines from their messenger... I doubt they are going to change how it works too much, but the change of ownership is enough for me to start looking at my options right away and setting up other solutions.
It does sound alot of wonga to have spent out but when you think it could be used as a massive advertising platform for not only microsoft products but also other forms of earnings like adverts very much like what Google have done with Youtube. No one pays for Youtube but it has started to earn its keep so they have checked over all the facts and figures and worked out it it will earn more than what they have payed for it. I see it as a sound business move for them, you have to look out side the box for its full potential !!
