Hi Debunked, In my thinking I seperate the person following Islam from a terrorist, I don't think they are one and the same. That may be our fundamental differance. I think some people that follow Islam believe in terrorism, I don't know how many but I would guestimate about 10%. But that doesn't make me condemn there whole religion. "I am just tired of people turning the warnings into some sort of hate. If I personally hate something to do with Islam, it is the evil, lies, etc... we are seeing." But it seems like when we condemn there whole religion we are seperating ourselves from them and saying you over there are all bad and we are all good. We will fling insults back and forth, go around in circles, become exhausted and never find peace in our world. I think if I were in charge of the US, I would make it my top priority to befriend that 90% of the Islam community. I think a little respect goes along way, with a little love going back and forth I think terrorism would fall away. But Debunked, don't feel like I am thinking anything bad about you because I am not. You are obviously extremely intelligent and have alot of knowledge of what is going on in our world. I feel lucky to read and learn on this forum, there are so many intelligent people that have thought a great deal about political and religious issues. But on this one point, I could not agree to be against the Islam religion.

I don't think they are "treated fairly all the way". I think many of them are treat with contempt and mistrust. I'm pretty sure you can go live in Islam territories, and I'm sure some places are allright. But I'll be honest, I wouldn't want to go live in the middle east and that includes Israel. It is just to much fighting. I think Islamic fundamentalists that follow the old teachings to the letter could believe terrorism is OK. But Christian extremist kind of frighten me as well. No, if 10% of Islam followers believe in terrorism that would not make me hate the Islam religion. I think the Taliban has treated women disgracefully, but I seperate them as a terrorist group they are not Islam.
They are, and in many countries they have even more rights than local citicens. Just a short time ago A friend of mine who is human relation officer in a city hall of a dutch province got slapped badly because he couldn't immediately fullfll the persns request for money. That person whoslapped him was a muslim and no charges were pressed against him. Now, try that as a local citicen or in a muslim country. I do know my friend very well, he's one of the kindest persons I know, though he is gay and it can be obviously figured out, doesn't entitle any muslim in a free country to act like this.

Don't get me wrong - I never said all muslims are terrorists. All I am saying is those who truely follow the teachings of their prophet are the one that are terrorists. I am also not saying we are all good, they are all bad, just those who follow mohamads works are the one killing. But also don't be fooled, look at how many who hate USA because of the teachings, media, etc... They (including yoyo) believe the US is going to try and take over land like Brittain use to, like Imperialists. Some really think the US is like the emporer in Star Wars.
You guys have really got me interested in this whole subject. What I believe is that there are many mainstream muslims that follow Islam that really do believe in peace and practice it. These people are not interested in treating women badly or anyone else. BUT, on the other hand you have Islamic Fundamentalist that have perverted Islam. I have spent hours tonight on this site: http://www.rawa.org/index.htm It is the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) These women are happy to be muslim and to be followers of Islam, but it is Islamic Fundamentalism that has oppressed them in such a horrible way. It is really sad. It is hard to imagine living in the way they have lived.
I'm glad you are getting more interested Rebecca. Don't stop. It's basicly about freedom of religion. Even if you don't want to believe in any God at all, that should be your right. Islam does not permit it. Their motto is "Convert or Die". We can fight terrorism right here online by making sure people can see the truth.

That's a good link, I bookmarked it. I do imagine all the time about how they must be living. Not only do I want to see their lives peaceful, but I want to make sure our lives can stay peaceful.
I am not here to bash Islam or any other religion. And as I have said many times b4, I have no problem with Islam. I think strict or extreme fundamental Islam or Christianity has a way of perverting both religions into hate. If your statement about, "We can fight terrorism right here online by making sure people can see the truth." means posting hate messages about the Islam religion, please count me out as I don't think I can stomach that.
This is a politics and religious forum to exchange ideas. People have all kinds of opinions and thoughts and that is part of what makes it so much fun. Somehow I think you have a special agenda on here where it seems your primary goal is to spread hatred and harass one group of our society and I guess that is what I am having a problem with. Although, you did take a break earlier today to criticize mormons, jehovah witness and all catholics, besides people that follow Islam. Still, you have admitted your main goal on this forum is to fight terrorism (by posting hate messages about the Islam religion). Most followers of the Islam religion don't support terrorism, I have met some and I think they are nice people. I can understand attacking terrorism and terrorist in a post and I would not defend them, but you have admitted your main reason for being here is to attack an entire religion. I would say to everyone on this forum that these are difficult times with the pain of 911 and the fear of all the craziness in the world, but don't lower your standards. If it is ok to hate the entire Islam religion today and let the comments slide, will it be ok tomorrow when someone is saying all the Jews are evil? Or the Christians? Who will it be popular to hate tomorrow and who will stand up?
